Description

The Water Resources Act 2007 (the Act) regulates the taking of surface water and groundwater. Surface water means water from sources such as rivers, lakes, ponds, the stormwater system or other overland flow. Groundwater usually refers to bore water from underground aquifers. The Act is administered by the Environment Protection Authority.
