Ambient air quality monitoring is undertaken in the ACT to both support both the National Environment Protection Measures and an Air Quality Index (AQI) to better communicate the ambient air quality to the ACT Community.

Note: Only families with ACT address are counted. All service activities provided by CFC staff with a start date in the period are extracted and filtered to exclude client satisfaction surveys. The data is sorted by address, by client id, by event start date
and a formula applied to count each unique address as one family. A lookup formula is then applied to the address at event start date to confirm if they were an ACT resident at the time of the service.

Note A total of 2,052 young people aged between 12 and 25 years participated in the Youth Coalition Rate Canberra survey in 2016 which equates to approximately 2.6 per cent of the total estimated 78,000 young Canberrans aged 12–25 years.
