ACT Nature Conservation Threatened Native Species List. A species is threatened if it is likely to become extinct in the foreseeable future. The Nature Conservation Act 2014 (ACT) establishes a formal process for the identification and protection of threatened species and ecological communities. This group of layers provides information on select species or groups of plants species that are of conservation interest or listed as threatened (Endangered, Critically Endangered, Vulnerable) under the ACT Nature Conservation Act 2014 or the Commonwealth Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation (EPBC) Act 1999. A location without species mapped as present can be considered data deficient.

This layer contains information on the distribution and vegetation communities of alpine sphagnum bogs and associated fens. The dataset includes areas of RAMSAR significance. The threatened Northern Corroboree Frogs are also associated with these ecosystems. The mountains of the Australian Capital Territory support substantial areas of peat-forming mires in interfluves and valley heads, as well as areas of riparian fen vegetation along streams.
